1 February 2021

It’s a crazy time to do it, but we’ll soon be moving offices. We’ve expanded our team so much that the current office is bursting at the seams (when we’re not all working from home that is) and we’ve been planning a move for the past couple of years. It was unfortunate timing that we took the decision to actually do it just before the first lockdown! So plans had to be put on hold for a few months. But even in such a difficult year we’ve expanded as we’ve taken on new clients and more work, and we have big plans to take on even more work and more staff. Our new office in Hemel Hempstead Business Park is being fitted out at the moment, and we’ve got our fingers crossed for a March move, but this is 2021 so all plans are, of course, subject to last minute changes. All we can say is ‘watch this space’!

Going back to school

We have just begun work on a new maintenance contract for the City of London Academy. We’ll be looking after and servicing mechanical equipment and air conditioning for one of the Academy’s schools and are looking forward to starting work!

We’re making life easier for our clients

We just updated our IT system. We really like our JobLogic software, but our needs have outgrown the system we were using. So we’ve now gone live with an upgraded, more client-based package – still with JobLogic – that will help things work more smoothly for us. Most importantly, the new system will be easier for clients to work with, making it easier for them to check the progress of our projects.

Award winners

We’ve just been told that we’ve won the Best Building Engineering Services, South East England in Build Magazine’s Construction & Engineering Awards. The news came out of the blue because we were nominated by a couple of clients – we don’t know who they are, but we’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their nominations!

Here’s to another decade

Three Rivers District Council have just renewed our contract with them for a further 10 years. We’ll continue taking care of everything from water hygiene and air conditioning, to mechanical servicing and maintenance.

Doing our bit for the vaccination programme

One of the buildings we look after is currently being used as a vaccination centre in St Albans. Unfortunately the motor for the heating and ventilation fan broke, and when we tried to get a replacement, we were told it would take five to six weeks. We thought this was an unacceptably long time to wait, particularly as the vaccination centre would have had to close down for this time. So, after a lot of explanations and cajoling from us, we managed to get the company to send the new motor within three days. Everything is now up and running and vaccinations are going ahead as planned.
