The Purchasing Coordinator will represent the business in the purchasing of goods required, ensuring the company meets its orders for on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. 

To be successful in this, the Purchasing Coordinator must evaluate and determine the best supplier, value, and delivery for those products. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Purchase products from suppliers 
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers 
  • Co-ordinate purchasing and delivery dates with the needs of the company 
  • Forecast stock requirements accordingly
  • Review out-of-stock products and improve processes to reduce these 
  • Proactively plan exit strategies for discontinued products 
  • Liaise with warehouses so they are aware of delivery times courier pick-ups 
  • Make sure late deliveries are chased with corrective actions taken 

The ideal candidate: 

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in purchasing 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Proactive and well organised 
  • Good telephone and email communication 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel skills are essential) 
  • Agility, flexibility, and ability to “think outside of the box” to drive change and embed innovative solutions 
  • Fluent written and spoken English
